THE QUAKE : 7 to 12 pieces
Formed in Philadelphia in 1995, The Quake is a professional, upscale, special events band. The band that you hire is the one that will perform at your event. Configurations can range from 7 to 12 pieces, depending on budget and type of event, with no compromises in sound or performance. The Quake is led by three dynamic lead vocalists and backed by a tight, big rhythm section and a funky, 3 piece horn section. The Quake has been featured at the finest hotels, resorts, nightclubs, and casinos in Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Maryland, as well as countless weddings, Mitzvahs, exclusive parties, and corporate functions held along the East Coast.
THE QUAKE UNLEASHED : 13 plus pieces
The Quake Unleashed was a concept born out of the Comcast SportsNet Cable show “Monday Night Live” back in 2006. Quake co-founder and bandleader, Carl Smith, loved the freedom that live television afforded him. Being the musical director on a live television program allowed him to present whatever collection of musicians that he wanted to each week. Having the freedom to do this week in and week out kept a 19 to 22 week routine situation fresh and new, especially if the Philadelphia Sports teams weren’t doing well. No matter what, The Quake Unleashed had to deliver each week. The party couldn't stop because a Philly team lost. The Quake Unleashed performed each week for the live audience at Chickie's and Pete's in South Philadelphia and the viewing audience at home, as though it was 1999. When the show went to commercial, the band kept the party going.
For the first season of the show, the band was called The Quake Unleashed. The Quake Unleashed expands on the raw energy, explosiveness, and spontaneity amongst all of the other great things the Quake is known for. Hopefully you can take it to another level by removing all the restrictions and boundaries that you’re faced with in normal musical situations. In a nutshell, The Quake Unleashed is The Quake on steroids. It is still The Quake, but with additional personnel, be it extra horns, vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, or percussion.
Today that original concept has been refined, shaped, and molded into a 16 piece mega band that can be accompanied with anything from dancers to a string section. When it comes to The Quake Unleashed, there are no rules. It can be whatever your imagination and budget will allow.
THE QUAKE SMALL BAND : 5 to 7 pieces
The Quake also offers a smaller version of The Quake that is comprised of keyboard, bass, drums, guitar, in addition to female and male vocals. Now you can experience the excitement of the larger ensemble with a more intimate presentation.
